I recommend you check out the\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s1\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fourseasons.com\/santabarbara\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore Santa Barbara<\/a>&#8216;s incredible gingerbread house!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">To honor the Resort&#8217;s 90th anniversary, talented <a href=\"http:\/\/comfortcareandnourishment.com\/2007\/12\/27\/pastries\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pastry Chef Javier Franco<\/a> and the rest of the pastry team created a stunning replica of the Resort out of gingerbread using 70 lbs. of <\/span><span class=\"s1\">powdered sugar.\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s1\">Pastillage, fondant, cooked sugar, royal icing, chocolate and gingerbread were the main components used for the construction and\u00a0most of the pottery is made of pastillage, a type of icing that is similar to gum paste. This incredible creation\u00a0took 1,500 roof tiles, all hand-made and hand-painted.<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_98809\" style=\"width: 710px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-98809\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-98809\" src=\"http:\/\/sbseasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/IMG_2377.jpg\" alt=\"Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore Santa Barbara's Gingerbread House, courtesy photo.\" width=\"700\" height=\"525\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-98809\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore Santa Barbara&#8217;s Gingerbread House, courtesy photo.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span class=\"s1\">Mini ice cream cones were used to make the pine trees,\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s1\">red hot gum sticks make the entrance driveway and pathways, t<\/span><span class=\"s1\">he windows are made of clear sugar and t<\/span><span class=\"s1\">he 140+ year old <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ficus_macrophylla\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Moreton Bay fig tree<\/a> is made of white chocolate. This masterpiece, along with a beautiful display of Christmas decorations are on display at the resort lobby until New Year&#8217;s Eve.
