By <a href=\"http:\/\/sbseasons.com\/cocktail-corner\/\" target=\"_blank\">Leslie Dinaberg\u00a0<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The spirits of fall are in the air, and\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s1\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.finchandforkrestaurant.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Finch &amp; Fork<\/a> has a friendly\u00a0new face behind the bar with an autumnal-inspired\u00a0new menu. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.noozhawk.com\/article\/tara_jones_canary_hotels_finch_fork_introduces_new_bartender_while_test_pil\" target=\"_blank\">Joe Dohany<\/a>\u2014who most recently was\u00a0a\u00a0craft bartender at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shakerandspear.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Shaker &amp; Spear<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pennyroyalbar.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Pennyroyal<\/a> at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kimptonhotels.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Kimpton<\/a>&#8216;s Seattle property, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.palladianhotel.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Palladian<\/a>\u2014is bringing a creative approach to the popular\u00a0hotspot inside the downtown Santa Barbara <a href=\"http:\/\/www.canarysantabarbara.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Canary Hotel<\/a> (31 W. Carrillo St.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">In addition to his mixology skills, Dohany went to culinary school, which definitely informs his holistic approach to\u00a0creating cocktails.\u00a0 His\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s1\">debut menu\u00a0included\u00a0half a dozen refreshing originals reflective of the season and the locale. While these will be switched up on a regular basis, Dohany assured us that the excellently balanced\u00a0<strong>Witch\u2019s Back<\/strong>\u2014with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bulldoggin.com\" target=\"_blank\">Bulldog Gin<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/punchdrink.com\/articles\/what-is-strega-cocktail-recipes-history\/\" target=\"_blank\">Strega orange liqueur<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.combierusa.com\/products\/fruit-liqueurs\/\" target=\"_blank\">Pamplemousse Rose<\/a>, lime and orange bitters, garnished with a fragrant sprig of rosemary (which resembles a witch&#8217;s broom)\u2014will stay on the menu.<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_73754\" style=\"width: 535px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-73754\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-73754\" src=\"http:\/\/sbseasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/IMG_2922.jpg\" alt=\"Finch &amp; Fork's Witch's Back (left) and Rubies &amp; Gold, photo by Leslie Dinaberg.\" width=\"525\" height=\"700\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-73754\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Finch &amp; Fork&#8217;s Witch&#8217;s Back (left) and Rubies &amp; Gold, photo by Leslie Dinaberg.<\/p><\/div>\n<p class=\"p3\">Other Dohany creations on the menu at the moment are\u00a0the aromatic <strong>Puck\u2019s Potion<\/strong> with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ketelone.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ketel One Vodka<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/vermouth101.com\/vermouth-styles.html\" target=\"_blank\">Dolin Blanc<\/a>, jasmine tea syrup, lemon and peach bitters and a kiss of absinthe;\u00a0the <strong>Buzz Around Town<\/strong> with lavender\u2013infused <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tanqueray.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Tanqueray Gin<\/a>, blackberry, honey, lemon and soda water; and\u00a0the <strong>Do or Do Not<\/strong>,\u00a0made with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.liquor.com\/brands\/dewars\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dewar&#8217;s Scotch<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/solernoliqueur.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Solerno Blood Orange Liqueur<\/a>, lime and <a href=\"http:\/\/scrappysbitters.com\/product\/orleans-bitters\/\" target=\"_blank\">Scrappy&#8217;s Orleans bitters<\/a>, among others.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">The night we were there, Dohany was working on a new seasonal libation called <strong>Rubies &amp;\u00a0Gold<\/strong>, featuring gold rum, lime, cranberry and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.becherovka.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Becherovka<\/a>, an herbal liquor with the distinctly fall flavors of\u00a0cinnamon, anise and cloves.
