By <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lesliedinaberg.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Leslie Dinaberg<\/a><\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n<p>The French word<a href=\"http:\/\/www.merriam-webster.com\/dictionary\/aperitif\" target=\"_blank\"><em> ap\u00e9ritif<\/em><\/a>, like its Italian counterpart, <em>aperitivo<\/em>, comes from the Latin <em>aperire<\/em>, meaning \u201cto open.\u201d These &#8220;alcoholic appetizers&#8221; are a European tradition, designed as delicious, low-alcohol lead-ins to a meal.<\/p>\n<p>Some classic ap<em>\u00e9<\/em>ritifs include <a href=\"http:\/\/vermouth101.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Vermouth<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.campari.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Campari<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.doyoudubonnet.com\/about.shtml\" target=\"_blank\">Dubonnet<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Lillet\" target=\"_blank\">Lillet <\/a>and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aperol.com\/int\/en\/aperol-world\/product\/\" target=\"_blank\">Aperol<\/a>, all of which can be satisfyingly sipped on their own\u2014or mixed\u00a0with soda, juice, and ice.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_71777\" style=\"width: 714px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-71777\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-71777\" src=\"http:\/\/sbseasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/11138580_1625552731007991_1332030199265812394_n.jpg\" alt=\"Photo Courtesy Jardesca.\" width=\"704\" height=\"469\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-71777\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo Courtesy Jardesca.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>We recently tried a new entry to this category, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jardesca.com\/home\/\" target=\"_blank\">Jardesca<\/a>. Created in the wine country of Sonoma, it&#8217;s a blend of botanicals with\u00a0three\u00a0sweet and dry artisanal white wines.
