By <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lesliedinaberg.com\" target=\"_blank\">Leslie Dinaberg<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-70743\" src=\"http:\/\/sbseasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/0644345f-8ee3-489c-9a91-7d76a4aed6e4.jpg\" alt=\"Fermentation Festival Moscow Mule Competition\" width=\"700\" height=\"263\" \/>The 6th annual<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sbfermentationfestival.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"> Santa Barbara Fermentation Festival<\/a>\u00a0is coming up on\u00a0Sept. 11, but first up is a\u00a0pre-festival event called the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sbfermentationfestival.com\/cocktail-competition\" target=\"_blank\">Year of the Mule Cocktail Competition<\/a>, from 5-8 p.m. on Aug. 30, at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.goodlioncocktails.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Good Lion<\/a> (1212 State St.).<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">In celebration of the 75th anniversary of the creation of the <a href=\"http:\/\/sbseasons.com\/2013\/11\/cocktail-corner-pickle\/\" target=\"_blank\">Moscow Mule<\/a>, both professional and amateur cocktail enthusiasts will compete for a variety of fun prizes. Criteria include taste appeal, visual appeal, story\/background and time management! The deadline to sign up is Aug. 26. Click <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sbfermentationfestival.com\/cocktail-competition\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a> for more details and entry instructions.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, tickets are now on sale for the Santa Barbara Fermentation Festival, which has proved to be a vibrant educational gathering of local and regional culinary alchemists, wild fermenters and health experts showcasing the history, benefits and preparation of fermented foods. \u00a0That includes fun beers and cocktails, as well as loads of other fermented concoctions. This annual event is at <a href=\"http:\/\/stowhouse.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Rancho La Patera &amp; Stow House<\/a> (304 N. Los Carneros Rd., Goleta).
