A spirited toast to all things alcoholic! By\u00a0Leslie Dinaberg<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

I love it when good causes and good food and wine come together. Such is the case with the\u00a03rd annual Fork & Cork Classic<\/a> to benefit Santa Barbara County Foodbank<\/a> by pairing gourmet tastings with local wine to fund nutritious meals for Santa Barbara County residents.<\/p>\n

Taking place on Sunday, April 10, from 3-6\u00a0p.m.\u00a0at Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club<\/a>\u00a0(3375 Foothill Rd., Carpinteria),\u00a0100% of the event\u2019s proceeds will benefit the Foodbank\u2019s 300 local nonprofit partners who supply nutritious meals to Santa Barbara County residents.<\/p>\n

Just last year,\u00a0the Foodbank served 146,198 people, of whom 51,533 were children.<\/p>\n

“Santa Barbara Fork & Cork Classic is an important event for the Foodbank,” says\u00a0Erik Talkin<\/a>, CEO, Foodbank of Santa Barbara County. \u00a0“By taking part in this event, attendees are helping to provide healthy produce and staples for in-need Santa Barbara County residents.\u201d<\/p>\n

This year the\u00a0Fork & Cork Classic 2016 will honor Dario Furlati<\/a>, chef-owner at Ca’ Dario Ristorante<\/a> and Ca’ Dario Pizzeria<\/a>; Steve Beckman<\/a>, winemaker at Beckman Vineyards<\/a>, and Jack Motter<\/a> and Jeff Kramer<\/a>, farmers-owners at Ellwood Canyon Farms<\/a>, for the contributions they have made towards advancing their respective crafts as well as their efforts to support the local community, including the Foodbank.<\/p>\n
