A work of devastation and resurrection,\u00a0<em>Rice\u00a0<\/em>is set to a backdrop of the living, breathing rice paddies that make up Taiwan\u2019s expansive panorama; immersed in this landscape, Cloud Gate\u2019s formidable dancers\u2014described by\u00a0<em>The Globe and Mail as\u00a0<\/em>\u201cOne of the finest dance companies in the world\u201d\u2014enact a human drama parallel to rice\u2019s life cycle: flooding, sprouting, harvesting and burning rice fields.
