We’re getting excited about next week’s\u00a0Santa Barbara LOL Comedy Festival<\/a>. Organizers recently announced the addition of three new headline comedians; actor, comedian and radio host\u00a0Jay Mohr<\/a>\u00a0(8 p.m. on 9\/5), actor and comedian\u00a0Brad Williams<\/a>\u00a0(10 p.m. on 9\/5) and television host and comedian\u00a0Kirk Fox<\/a>\u00a0(6 p.m. on 9\/6). All three of these performances will be filmed at the Lobero Theatre<\/a> as one-hour stand-up comedy specials for future broadcast. These will be the first 1-hour specials for both Willams and Fox.<\/p>\n

Previously announced specials being filmed for broadcast on Saturday, September 6 include \u201cAndrew Dice Clay Presents the Blue Show<\/a>.\u201d In addition,\u00a0\u201cLOL Comedy Inc.\u201d will be filming in and around Santa Barbara during the festival to\u00a0give viewers “the coveted insider\u2019s access to what goes on behind the scenes with some of today\u2019s hottest comics, with the LOL Comedy Festival as its backdrop.”<\/p>\n

Other live performances include a\u00a0premiere screening of Rip Taylor\u2019s documentary Rip Rip Hooray<\/em><\/a> to open the festival on Tuesday, September 2, with Rip Taylor<\/a> here\u00a0for a Q&A after the screening\u00a0at the Arlington Theatre<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0Also performing are\u00a0Russell Peters<\/a> and his \u201cAlmost Famous World Tour\u201d at the Granada Theatre<\/a>\u00a0on Thursday, September 4 at 8 p.m. and\u00a0\u201cJim Jefferies Live<\/a>\u201d at the Arlington Theatre on Sunday, September 7 at 7 p.m.<\/p>\n

Tuesday, September 2,\u00a0 8\u00a0p.m.\u00a0\u2022 \u201cRip Rip Hooray\u201d\u00a0\u2022 Arlington Theatre<\/strong>
\nThe premiere of the Rip Taylor Documentary. Rip Taylor will be in attendance for the premiere and will be conducting a Q&A at the conclusion of the premiere. – Tickets: $18 & $25.<\/p>\n

Wednesday, September 3,\u00a08\u00a0p.m.\u00a0\u2022 \u201cNext-Up Stand-Up\u201d\u00a0\u2022 Lobero Theatre<\/strong>
\nFeaturing the hottest up and coming comedic and musical performances (see website for details), \u201cNext Up Stand Up\u201d kicks off at the Lobero Theatre and will take place at different, locations downtown. \u201cNext Up Stand Up\u201d will be filmed as part of a series to be aired on Hulu and\u00a0loflix.com<\/span><\/a>. Wednesday, September 3,\u00a0 10\u00a0p.m.\u00a0\u2022 \u201cSuperNaked\u201d\u00a0\u2022 Lobero Theatre<\/strong>
\nBe prepared for the musically unexpected. SuperNaked <\/a>lives somewhere between the lines of Tenacious D and Flight of the Conchords with a raw intelligent and masterful comedic flare. Comedian, actor, radio host and best selling author, Jay Mohr has been performing stand-up comedy since he was 16\u00a0years old. Anyone that has ever seen one of his concerts will be quick to tell you that there is no one better. Comedy Central agrees, having named Mohr one of the 100 greatest stand-up comics of all time. Tickets for each show. $18, $25 and $40 for Gold Circle ticktes that include best seats, meet and greet and signed festival poster from Jay.<\/p>\n

Friday, September 5,\u00a010\u00a0p.m. \u2022 \u201cBrad Williams\u201d\u00a0Lobero Theatre<\/strong>
\nBrad is filming his first one hour comedy special in Santa Barbara and has appeared on numerous TV shows including \u201cLegit,\u201d \u201cLive at Gotham,\u201d \u201cthe Tonight Show,\u201d \u201cJimmy Kimmel Live,\u201d \u201cMind Of Mencia,\u201d and \u201cPitboss.\u201d Brad\u2019s show is high energy and Robin Williams called him \u201cProzac with a head.\u201d Tickets for each show. $18, $25<\/p>\n

Saturday, September 6, 6 p.m.\u00a0Kirk Fox,\u00a0Lobero Theatre<\/strong>
