\"film-fest-poster\"<\/a>There’s a great new addition to the Santa Barbara International Film Festival<\/strong> <\/a>this year: free educational seminars on a variety of topics that are related to film.<\/span><\/p>\n

Here’s the schedule:<\/p>\n

Topic: Social Justice<\/strong><\/p>\n

Monday, Feb. 3 at noon. Moderated by Geoff Green<\/a>, executive director of The Fund for Santa Barbara<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Topic: Breaking into the Industry<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tuesday, Feb. 4 at noon. Moderated by Nico Maestu<\/a>, film studies professor.<\/p>\n

Topic: Santa Barbara Filmmakers<\/strong><\/p>\n

Wednesday, Feb. 5 at noon. Moderated by Russ Spencer<\/a>\u00a0of Bison Films<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Topic: Representing Women of Color<\/strong><\/p>\n

Thursday, Feb. 6 at noon. Moderated by Gaye Theresa Johnston<\/a> and Ingrid Banks<\/a>, UCSB Department of Black Studies.<\/p>\n

Topic: Screen Cuisine<\/strong><\/p>\n

Friday, Feb. 7 at noon. Moderated by Steve Chagollan<\/a> from Variety<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Participants in each seminar will include industry professionals as well filmmakers with films in the festival.<\/p>\n

All remaining seminars take place in the UGG Australia Pavilion<\/a>, which is located behind the Lobero Theatre<\/a>, 33 E. Canon Perdido St. Due to limited space, admission is on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to pass-holders.<\/p>\n
