This is the second year we\u2019ve done this. Last year I set a goal to read better books but this year I actually read MORE books that weren\u2019t necessarily of the highest quality. I\u2019m finding that more and more I lean to read to escape, rather than be challenged, which is kind of sad.<\/p>\n<p>My favorite book of 2008 was probably <a title=\"The Comfort of Strangers\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/The-Comfort-Strangers-Ian-McEwan\/dp\/0679749845\" target=\"_blank\"><em>The Comfort of Strangers<\/em><\/a> by Ian McEwan, he also wrote <a title=\"Atonement\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Atonement-Ian-McEwan-ebook\/dp\/B000QCQ9O8\/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1390350607&amp;sr=1-1&amp;keywords=Atonement\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Atonement<\/em><\/a>, which I loved. I have a few more of his books on my night table so I\u2019m looking forward to those.
