Photo by Taylor Micaela Davis.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><b>A spirited toast to all things alcoholic! \u00a0By Leslie Dinaberg<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Santa Barbara&#8217;s Spanish heritage is always on display at the beautiful <a title=\"Cadiz\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cadizsb.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Cadiz<\/strong><\/a> restaurant (509 State St.), but this month, there&#8217;s an extra injection of that <a title=\"Fiesta spirit\" href=\"http:\/\/www.oldspanishdays-fiesta.org\/new\/index.php\" target=\"_blank\">Fiesta spirit<\/a> with a special cocktail menu celebrating <a title=\"Santa Barbara Spotlight: Photographer Patricia Houghton Clarke\" href=\"http:\/\/sbseasons.com\/blog\/santa-barbara-spotlight-photographer-patricia-houghton-clarke\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Patricia Houghton Clarke<\/strong><\/a>&#8216;s Old Spanish Days photographs which are featured in the summer issue of <a title=\"A New View of Old Spanish Days\" href=\"http:\/\/sbseasons.com\/blog\/a-new-view-of-old-spanish-days\/\" target=\"_blank\">Santa Barbara SEASONS Magazine<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;Girls Give It A Go&#8221;<\/strong>\u2014inspired by Clarke&#8217;s kinetic portrayal of a trio of mechanical bull-riding pre-teen queens\u2014combines vodka, peach liqueur, <a title=\"Peychauds Bitters\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Peychaud's_Bitters\" target=\"_blank\">Peychauds Bitters<\/a>, lemon juice and Cava for a kicky cocktail that packs a nice punch on a warm summer night.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_14903\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-14903\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-14903\" alt=\"Cadiz's &quot;Girls Give It A Go&quot; cocktail. Photo by Taylor Micaela Davis.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>&#8220;Gingham and Palomino&#8221;<\/strong>\u2014a salute to Clarke&#8217;s contemplative horse parade portrait\u2014features a powerhouse combination of tequila, Aperol (an Italian apertif made with bitter orange, gentian flowers, rhubarb, and cinchona) and grapefruit juice.<\/p>\n<p>Both are enjoyable cocktails with layers of both bitter and sweet complexity, not unlike Clarke&#8217;s photographs, many of which are on view at Cadiz. (Including all of the photos featured in our summer issue.)<\/p>\n<p>Don&#8217;t worry if those aren&#8217;t to your taste, Cadiz has a fabulous menu of hand-crafted cocktails such as the &#8220;<strong>Capri<\/strong>,&#8221; featuring serrano-infused tequila, <a title=\"Luxardo Amaretto\" href=\"http:\/\/www.luxardo.it\/liqueurs\/amaretto.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Luxardo Amaretto<\/a>, mango puree and lime juice, with a Spanish paprika garnish; or the spicy &#8220;<strong>Sevilla&#8221;<\/strong> cocktail with serrano-infused tequila, muddled mint, ginger liquer, lemon juice and a jalape\u00f1o wheel; as well as a nice selection of wine.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_14904\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-14904\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-14904\" alt=\"&quot;Capri&quot; cocktail at Cadiz.
