Photo by Gary Moss, originally published in the summer 2021 issue of 805 Living Magazine.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The nostalgia of the standard s\u2019more\u2014melty chocolate and gooey roasted marshmallows<br \/>\nsandwiched between graham crackers\u2014gets a major upgrade with these creative takes on\u00a0the summer campfire classic.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Glamping-style:<\/strong> For its ultra-luxe s\u2019mores, Santa Barbara-based <strong>Jessica Foster<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Confections<\/strong> (<a href=\"http:\/\/jessicafosterconfections.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">jessicafosterconfections.com<\/a>) offers house-made, small-batch versions<br \/>\nof each of the treat\u2019s traditional components: the marshmallows, the chocolate, and<br \/>\nthe graham crackers. \u201cHonestly the most exciting part of the whole thing is the graham<br \/>\ncrackers,\u201d says confectioner Jessica Foster. \u201cThey are so buttery and crumbly that I have<br \/>\nto get rid of them when I make them or else I\u2019m going to eat all of them.\u201d<br \/>\nIn addition to producing the elevated s\u2019mores kit, Foster caters customized s\u2019mores<br \/>\nstations for events. At a celebration on <a href=\"https:\/\/nationaldaycalendar.com\/what-is-today\/national-smores-day-august-10\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">National S\u2019mores Day<\/a> last year she served<br \/>\nhouse-made cinnamon s\u2019mores\u00a0(cinnamon graham crackers,\u00a0cinnamon marshmallows, and\u00a0dark chocolate bars with sea\u00a0salt), lemon blackberry s\u2019mores\u00a0(graham crackers, vanilla<br \/>\nbean marshmallows, Meyer\u00a0lemon truffles, and sliced\u00a0blackberries), key lime s\u2019mores\u00a0(coconut graham crackers,\u00a0vanilla bean marshmallows,\u00a0key lime curd, and optional<br \/>\nchocolate), and mint chocolate\u00a0s\u2019mores (chocolate graham\u00a0crackers, vanilla bean<br \/>\nmarshmallows, and mint-infused\u00a0truffle sticks).\u00a0For the ultimate touch,\u00a0Foster even helped guests roast\u00a0their own marshmallows to\u00a0the perfect degree of gooey\u00a0goodness with a portable\u00a0blowtorch.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Camping-style<\/strong>: \u201cEverybody\u00a0wants s\u2019mores,\u201d says Samantha\u00a0Bearman, of <strong>SB Baking Besties<\/strong>\u00a0(<a href=\"http:\/\/samanthabearman.com\/sb-baking-besties\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">samanthabearman.com\/sb-baking-besties<\/a>), \u201cand\u00a0we bake our s\u2019mores with\u00a0love in every bite.\u201d Bearman\u00a0cofounded the Santa Barbara-based\u00a0sweets company with\u00a0her best friend, Nikki Russo,\u00a0last spring, and this summer\u00a0they\u2019re offering a S\u2019mores\u00a0With Love kit, which includes\u00a0homemade chocolate hearts\u00a0and homemade heart-shaped\u00a0marshmallows, as well as a\u00a0deluxe version that features\u00a0extra-large homemade\u00a0marshmallows atop homemade\u00a0campfire cookies instead of\u00a0standard graham crackers.<br \/>\n\u201cThey\u2019re great for when you\u00a0want a really sweet treat that\u2019s\u00a0messy,\u201d says Berman, \u201cand so<br \/>\nperfect for backyard camping\u00a0because they\u2019re gooey and ooey\u00a0and oh, so great.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/lesliedinaberg.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Screen-Shot-2021-07-07-at-10.55.51-AM.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-11514\" src=\"https:\/\/lesliedinaberg.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Screen-Shot-2021-07-07-at-10.55.51-AM-231x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"231\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lesliedinaberg.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Screen-Shot-2021-07-07-at-10.55.51-AM-231x300.png 231w, https:\/\/lesliedinaberg.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Screen-Shot-2021-07-07-at-10.55.51-AM.png 614w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 231px) 100vw, 231px\" \/><\/a> Originally published in the Summer 2021 issue of <a href=\"https:\/\/online.publicationprinters.com\/html5\/reader\/production\/default.aspx?pubname=&amp;edid=e8e894cf-25c1-41cf-b10d-2510c1fc8a21\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>805 Living Magazine<\/em><\/a>.
