Rusnak\/Westlake Porsche outfits a 2020 911 in a vinyl-wrap tribute to fallen
hero Sgt. Ron Helus to garner attention for a joint fundraising effort with the
Ventura County Sheriff\u2019s Foundation toward the new Helus Training Facility.<\/p><\/div>\n

To honor the memory of Ventura County Sheriff Sgt. Ron Helus<\/a>, who\u00a0was killed in the line of duty during the 2018 Thousand Oaks shooting\u00a0at Borderline Bar and Grill that claimed 12 lives, Rusnak\/Westlake\u00a0Porsche (rusnakwestlakeporsche.com<\/a>), has joined the Ventura\u00a0County Sheriff\u2019s Foundation<\/a> on a mission to fund\u00a0and build a new tactical, live-fire training facility\u00a0named for the fallen hero.<\/p>\n

\u201cCommunity support\u00a0for the new facility has been overwhelming,\u201d\u00a0says Ventura County Sheriff\u2019s Foundation board\u00a0member Christina Conley<\/a>. In less than a year,\u00a0she says, the Foundation has raised half of the\u00a0$800,000 needed to fully fund the construction\u00a0of the state-of-the art facility, which will better\u00a0prepare law enforcement officers for modern-day\u00a0threats, such as maneuvering, coordinating, and\u00a0securing locations under live-fire conditions.<\/p>\n

To help raise awareness for the project,\u00a0Keith Goldberg<\/a>, general manager of Rusnak\/\u00a0Westlake Porsche had a vinyl wrap made for a\u00a02020 Porsche 911 that was inspired by Helus\/hero badge designs that\u00a0appear on local sheriff\u2019s vehicles. \u201cIt really meant a lot to me to do\u00a0something for the victims,\u201d says Goldberg. \u201cIt was a great honor not\u00a0only to bring awareness to what happened but also to do something\u00a0in Sgt. Helus\u2019s memory to fundraise for the Ventura County Sheriff\u2019s\u00a0Foundation.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Hero911 Porsche is now displayed at community\u00a0events to draw awareness to the fundraising effort to build the\u00a0Helus Training Facility. For more information or to donate, visit\u00a0vcsheriffsfoundation.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n
