THE DEDICATED ALLIANCE of artists who form Santa\u00a0Barbara Printmakers<\/a> have come up with a clever way to promote\u00a0the local art scene and support Santa Barbara Arts\u00a0Collaborative<\/a> direct-to-artist grants at the same time. Beginning in\u00a0October, a monthly series of limited edition prints will be available
\nfor purchase, starting with the work of Santa Barbara\u2019s Nicole\u00a0Strasburg<\/a> (www.sullivangoss.com\/nicole_strasburg<\/a>), who is\u00a0known for her minimalist approach to the landscape, weaving naturalistic\u00a0imagery with abstract sensibilities.<\/p>\n

While painting is\u00a0Strasburg\u2019s primary medium, printmaking is a constant diversion.\u00a0\u201cExperimenting with other mediums, including printmaking,
\nis a great tool to explore design and composition with the\u00a0belief that all paths lead back to a richer understanding of\u00a0painting,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n

November\u2019s featured artist is Pamela Zwehl-Burke<\/a>\u00a0(www.pamelazwehlburke.com<\/a>), who says her work \u201cmanifests\u00a0in a variety of scales, formats and materials, but the\u00a0intention and subject is for the most part commonplace\u00a0visual experience re-seen and re-excerpted: animal, vegetable,
\nmineral and their stories.\u201d Seeing is as much the\u00a0subject as the seen for this German-educated artist, who\u00a0makes her home in Santa Ynez.<\/p>\n

Other participating artists include Marie Schoeff,\u00a0Carolyn Hubbs, Nina de Creeft Ward, Teresa Zepeda,\u00a0Valori Fussell, Dug Uyesaka, Libby Smith, Rafael Perea
\nde la Cabada, Michael Jameson, Nina Warner and\u00a0Stephanie Dotson.<\/p>\n

This limited edition print series is now\u00a0available through Santa Barbara Arts
\nCollaborative (traceyamorris@yahoo.com,\u00a0www.sbartscollaborative.org<\/a>), a group of artists\u00a0and arts supporters committed to sustaining\u00a0and growing all forms of art in Santa Barbara\u00a0by providing focused support of individual artists
\nand arts organizations that contribute to the\u00a0unique cultural ecology of the community.<\/p>\n

Purchase all 13 prints for $550, or one each\u00a0month for $50, with a bonus print by Carolyn\u00a0Hubbs available on December 15.<\/p>\n
